I started back with my running several years ago and ran a few fun 5Ks and thought why not try for a half-marathon. In 2013, I trained all by myself for the Houston Half Marathon. When I crossed that finish line, it was a feeling I could not explain. I was laughing and crying; just thrilled and happy to have accomplished this goal AND I ran it non-stop!

I joined Bay Area Fit in 2016 to train for another half-marathon; this time with a supportive, energetic and fun running group. What a difference it made from training alone to training with a structured schedule. Since joining BAF I have ran some 5Ks, several 10Ks and half-marathons. While training for my first full marathon in 2017, I developed Achilles tendonitis. That injury sidelined my marathon training. I was very saddened; especially knowing the timeframe it would take to heal. I was able to come back to running during the off-season and feel pretty good going forward. It is a brand new season, a fresh start, and I’m excited to begin marathon training again along with BAF. I am honored to be a part of the Red pace coaching group but most importantly excited to help others reach their goals.

Let us run with endurance the race set before us. Hebrews 12:1
